Recent warm and calm weather brings out the astro-imager in many stargazers.

It’s a great way to experience the outback night sky and take home memories of your stay. Also, you may discover it is a new hobby that provides life-long enjoyment that you can take with you on all your travels.

These ones are examples of images from sky show guest, Vivian, a young student working in Broken Hill for a few weeks.

She used a Nikon camera, mounted on a tripod, with various settings and exposure times.

Vivian describes her images as “very amateur” however, they are really very good! It’s not easy to capture the Milky Way so clearly!
