Workshop: Learn to Stargaze with Outback Astronomy

Outback Astronomy’s founder and sky guide, Linda Nadge, will share information, tips and techniques that will help you understand the view of the sky, day or night, and help you make better sense of your stargazing app. The format is based on her newly released book entitled “Outback Astronomy’s Stargazing Field Guide”.
The curiosity of thousands of guests who have attended sky shows have guided the book’s content. Learn how to understand the sky. Get the boost you need to become an informed stargazer.
Workshop is outdoors and will be unaffected by cloud. Bring hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, notepad and pen. Please note you will need at least one copy of the book for the workshop.

Subject to conditions on the day, stay for an extra 15 to 30 minutes for some solar gazing. See the Sun through the lens of a powerful smart telescope, equipped with safe solar filter, to see any visible sun spots. Learn about our favourite star, the Sun. (No charge for solar gazing. Will not proceed if cloudy.)
*Special Terms and Conditions for the Spiritual Festival … Outback Astronomy’s Stargazing Field Guide will be supplied only if the workshop proceeds, and only if guests attend the workshop (no postage and packaging is included in the price). If the workshop is cancelled, eg due to heavy rain, guests will be refunded in full.
The book is a discounted purchase online at the time of booking the workshop. Books purchased at Outback Astronomy’s venue will incur the full retail price, $30. Solar gazing can only proceed if clear and sunny, after 2pm. No extra charge for solar gazing. No personal audio in use – public address system will be used by sky guide.
