Outback Astronomy will open during the day from Saturday, 21 March 2020.
Two activities will be added to our program:
- Café operations – Sky Dome Cafe
- Solar viewing
The café will open with limited offerings while we establish our processes.
On sale: coffee, tea, cookies and other snacks, and a number of lunch menu options suited to dine-in or take-away. Guests will have the option of dining outdoors or inside. Our property is located at 18817 Barrier Highway, less than 10km from the Post Office in Argent St, Broken Hill, and just a 10 minute drive to a peaceful setting.
The Sky Dome Café, so-named because our kitchen is next to our stargazing dome, will open from 10am to 3pm from Saturday 21 March 2020 until Saturday, 4 April 2020, the end of Australian Central Daylight Time.
The café will open Wednesday through to Saturday during this two week period (initially we will be closed Mondays and Tuesdays).
From 5 April 2020 when daylight saving ends, days and times will be reviewed.
Please refer to our Facebook page for further information as it becomes available.
Solar viewing will also proceed. Guests can safely gaze upon the Sun while enjoying afternoon tea. More details will be released soon.
