Introducing…. Flat Mat Gazing

We’ve created a new sky show for children and parents to enjoy together.

We’re trialling it during January, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights 21^st, 22^nd and 23^rd and again on 28^th, 29^th and 30^th – subject to weather.

Plus we’ve built in an incentive for Broken Hill residents to reward you for your past support.

The new 30 minute sky show is simply called Flat Mat Gazing. It starts just after sunset.

This is a great way to connect with your children and help them learn about night sky cycles and make the sky less confusing. Take away new knowledge and progress stargazing with your children in your backyard at a convenient time.

Make up a small group with family and friends and book online. Minimum group size required is five persons.

The price for all persons who attend is just $25.

And the reward for our Broken Hill supporters?

If you have attended a sky show at Outback Astronomy in the past we will reward you with one free attendance so long as you bring four paying persons with you. That is, five people attend for the price of four.

We will proceed with this event only if we have at least five full paying persons.

It is what the name says though, Flat Mat Gazing.

You must bring a mat as there are no chairs tonight. A yoga mat is ideal. You may hire a mat from us for $2 for use on the evening. No flat mat gazing is allowed without a mat! Upright chairs are available for those who prefer not to have a close encounter with Earth.
