The glamping tent at Outback Astronomy is now available for direct bookings online.
The glamping experience is exclusive as we have only one tent. You will be the only guests staying at Outback Astronomy after the sky show ends.
You will have total privacy. Prepare for a beautiful night relaxing under the stars, near a campfire as you roast marshmallows.
Because the tent accommodation is next to our viewing site, glampers must book into the sky show on the evening of your stay.
Priority Stargazing for Glamping
However, to be sure you have secured the tent, book it first. If our sky show is fully booked on your planned date of travel, don’t worry as we will always have another two places left for our glampers.

Glampers who book in advance receive a detailed email with information to help make your outback stargazing adventure enjoyable, free of hassle.
Only two persons can stay in the tent. We can accommodate another six persons camping on our grassed, fully fenced property. However, if you bring the children, they must be 8 years old to stay overnight if they are pitching their tent or rolling out their swags.
We do not supply tents and swags. If you bring a tent to pitch for children you will need to ensure you check in as early as possible to ensure the tent is pitched well before the sky show that night. Note that all persons in the family or group must attend the sky show. Our venue has facilities that make your first camping experience in the outback more comfortable. Now that the tent has a portable air conditioner we are able to offer the experience all year round. In summer, glampers have sole access to the swimming pool.
If we think the weather will be problematic, we can text or email you in advance and provide an alert in the event you want to try to reschedule. We believe you should have clear skies when visiting us.
There are also lower glamping rates for multiple nights. We don’t mind if you make last minute extensions to your stay if we have availability.
We also have a commercial kitchen at our stargazing site. Never be afraid to enquire about Outback Astronomy cooking up a feast for you in the event the sky show is clouded out or if you want a late night dinner. We do need to plan this in advance and discuss what you might like included in your exclusive dinner for two on our sky dome. Our specialties are rustic barbecues, salads, soups, roasts and curries and lemon and chocolate dessert flavours.
Outback Astronomy Summer Dining on the Dome
In warmer months during daylight saving time, there may be time to arrange an exclusive dinner on our stargazing dome.
In January we may commence our sky show at 9:30 pm. This allows ample time to enjoy a BBQ or more formal dinner alone, on the sky dome, before everyone else arrives.
We serve quality wines from NSW wineries located in Mudgee and Orange, as well as beers and soft drinks. Our Sky Dome Café also serves barista coffee, chai latte, hot chocolate and other beverages. Glampers receive priority treatment for coffee in the morning, especially if there is a long drive ahead. Our take-away service is available for glampers to prearrange with us. We have a variety of foods and beverages to help make the road trip ahead more efficient.
Your hosts Linda and Travis look forward to hosting you at Outback Astronomy.
